11-August-2001 PING monitoring enabled
For the request of one of the customers I have setup PING monitoring as well.
In this service the Tracert.com server will ping the given hostname or IP address and will report in case the other device is not accessible. As the ICMP PING service is less reliable than the HTTP or HTTPS monitoring in case of failor, the Tracert Server will ping the target device a second time and only if both PINGs fail only then it is considered as a failor to access the remote machine.

10-August-2001 HTTPS (SSL) monitoring enabled
From now on our customers can select to monitor secure web sites as well. Pricing is the same as for monitoring regular (HTTP) web sites.

There was little set back in the development but in the meanwhile there is a new Speed-Meter Agent in New York. Actually a French in New York provided by Marketing Internet Ltd.

Cleaned-up the list traceroute sites, removed a few sites that were not available anymore.

The Ping server database has been cleaned from non-functioning Ping gateways. Not much remained. But now as work progresses I'll add more.

11-July-2001 More packages, more Agents
I have added more packages to the monitoring service. From now customers can buy monitoring for 3,6 or 12 month with web site checking frequency of 5,15 or 60 minutes.

I added 2 more agents, one in the US and one in Russia from the same provider. IDCL and Toolworld See the current network

5-July-2001 The first customer !
The first monitoring customer has payed for the service and the monitoring has been launched.

4-July-2001 Monitoring Web Sites
I have opened the first service that costs money and generates income for me. For a long time users were asking me for the monitoring service and finally I finished it. The first version provides monitoring for availability of web sites from our server in Florida, later version will include Speed Monitoring as well.

10-June-2001 Clean up Speed-Meter agents list
During the last year about half of the locatios providing place for Speed-Meter Agents have removed or disabled the agent due to various reasons. Today I updated the central database so it wil show only the working Agents.

I also added a new Agent. There are about 300 e-mails I have not answered in the past year regarding Speed-Meter agents, Though it will take some time to go over them but I hope I can add even more new Agents. If you are interested in setting up one Please read here.

3-June-2001 Cannot login bug
I have solved part of the 'cannot login bug'. Still there are ocassions when registered users get a password but they cannot login with it. With this improvement failed registrations (users whom registered but have never logged in) went down by 50%. Part of the failed registrations are people with full e-mail boxes or people who give incorrect e-mail addresses. I write part because there are still people complaining that they cannot login but I am not sure what is the reason. Some of them have no Cookies enabled and this is the reason they cannot login. I will have to research it further.

2-June-2001 Renew work on the site
After more than 1 year of hardly maintaining the site I have started to work on it again. I cleaned up the traceroute database and remove the obsolate traceroute servers. (Soon I'll have to write a tool that will do it automatically)
