Speed-Meter Gateway - Understanding the results

For each Agent we provide the following details:

Connect time: The time it takes to get the first response from the web server.

Transfer time: The time from the first response till the last byte has been received.

Total time: connect time + transfer time

Retrived: total size of downloaded files (HTML, gif, jpg, etc.)

Transfer speed: Retrived bytes / Total time

Error Messages

Unable to resolve hostname The agent is not able to get the IP address of the given machine.
This can be due to a typo in the host name or
this can be a DNS problem on your side or if it happens only at some of the agents it can be an propagation problem.
HTTP Error! 404 Not Found: FILENAME The URL printed in this line represents a file that does not exist. It indicates some problems in the HTML file.
WARNING! Size limit reached (current size limit at this location: 120000 bytes) in order to make sure we don't atempt to measure the download speed of a huge file we implemented a per request size limit. This warning tells you that the page you tried to download was bigger than our limit.
Currently there are two limitations: for any singele object it is 120Kbyte, for the whole page it is 200K.
Actually any page that is bigger than that is too big for most of the users today so probably it is not a good idea to build such pages
HTTP Error! 401 Unauthorized This page only can be reached after providing a login name and a password.
Currently we don't support password protected pages.
Request timed out: FILENAME Sometimes in the middle of downloading a web-page the Internet gets so slow that some of the files in a web-page don't make it to your browser.
SM at xxxxxxxxxx is not responding! Try this site later! The Gateway cannot reach the agent. Sometimes there are network problems between the location of the central Gateway and some of the Agents. This is the nature of the Internet and it is mostly cannot be fixed by us. It is a problem inheritent to the way the Internet is built.
This message itself does not indicate anything wrong with your site.
WARNING! Redirection has found! Redirected to URL
Can't connect to xxxxxxxxxxxx The server xxxxxxxxxxx does not respond to the http request.
either the web server is not running on that machine, or not on the given port.
HTTP Error! 400 Bad Request: xxxxxxxxxxxx The given URL xxxxxxxxxxxxx does not exist. This can be either because the URL you provided does not exist or because there is a frame or image in the HTML page that does not exist. If this is your page you should have a look at the soure code of the file and fix the problem.
